My Basic Bread Recipe--

This is a never fail basic bread recipe.

Ingredients:

dry ingredients-

  1. Bread flour------------------5 cups
  2. Fast active yeast------------1 1/2 tsp
  3. Sugar-----------------------2 TBS
  4. Salt-------------------------1 tsp

Olive oil (or coconut oil)----2 TBS (optional)
Water----------------------2 cups

Instruction:

  1. Mix all the dry ingredients in the mixing bowl. Mix oil in. Mix water one cup a time in.
  2. Knead dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth.
  3. Place the dough in a well oiled bowl and cover with a damp cloth or a lid.
  4. Allow to rise until doubled in bulk. (depending on the weather. 1-2 hours)
  5. Punch down the dough and divide into four.
  6. Shape into loaves and place into two well oiled loaf pans. Allow to rise until dough double.
  7. Bake at 175 degrees C for 25 minutes.
